Summary: 278 km 5h50
NOTE: The tours in Alsace are often subject to the road conditions.

From Oberharmersbach the ride goes through Biberach towards Lahr, Kippenheim, Altdorf and direction the Rhine at Kappel-Grafenhausen where the barge (free) brings us to France. From Rhinau via the D203 towards Friesenheim, Witterheim, Kogenheim, Bleinschwiller, the wine route goes through Dambach-la-Ville, Scherwiller and Kintzheim. Leave the wine route and turn off towards the Haut-Koenigsbourg. A breathtaking view of the Rhine plains and Black Forest, a pleasant place for a coffee break. The castle erected at the 12th century, restored around 1480, was burnt during the thirty-years war. In 1899 the town of Sélestat gave the castle to the emperor Wilhelm II who rebuilt it in 15th century style. Direction Ste Maire-aux-Mines, the opportunity to fill up (no more gas station for a long time). Thereafter, through the D48 towards the first pass, the Col de Bagenelles (903 m – 2932 ft) then the D148 for the Col du Bonhomme (1128 m – 3700 ft) let's continue on the Route des Crêtes towards the Col du Calvaire and the Col de la Schlucht (1258 m – 4127 ft). Not bad for a lunch pause. Let's go down from the Col de la Schlucht to arrive to Munster (name of the well kown cheese) and continue towards Turckheim and once again the wine route. It goes through Ingersheim towards Ribeauville, and take the D106 towards Guemar, Illhausern, Elsenheim and Marckolsheim. Cross the Rhine at the locks and the hydraulic power plant. The coffee pause in Sasbach am Kaiserstuhl is a must. After Kenzingen (a glance at the fuel gauge). From there, the crossing of the Bleichtal and Schuttertal valleys towards Steinach, Zell am Harmersbach and return to Oberharmersbach.

Before going to the hotel, a coffee pause at the NILLHOF (Höhengasthaus Nillhof) for coffee and Black Forest cake bake on site for the price of 6 EUR coffee + cake (Special price for our friendly bikers).
