You'll even find lots of good pubs and restaurants. Leave your luggage at your B&B or camping place in order to travel relax around Windermere, our central point for those two road books. Take your time and make lots of pictures in those beautifull landscapes where your sight know no limits ! This touristical region should be avoided in summer. Easy driving all over the region with perfect road conditions, even at the hilly pass like "Hardknott Pass" with its 30% up-and-down. Lots of pubs and "bar food" available all over the region. Stop at the first petrol station if you doubt of your left autonomy. Fabuleux parcours "roulé" fin février 2011. La route du Hardknott Pass est unique et impressionnante. Certainement impraticable en grosse saison car très difficile de se croiser. La seconde partie est très roulante mais splendide. Se termine par un sympathique passage en bac (file d‘attente en saison certainement). Un bel avant-goût des paysages écossais.
