The tour brings us mostly on good secundary roads through the Black Forest and mounts with gorgeous panoramic views. Summary : 314 km 6h30
From Oberharmersbach let's ride through Haslach towards the Heidburg (520 m – 1706 ft) between the Kinzig and Elztal valleys. Go down the valley and then through the Simonswäldertal to climb towards the Neueck. Fans of curves will enjoy it. Then, the Schwarzwaldhochstraβe B500 to pass through the Urach and Eisenbach valleys. Here, very little trafic on these scenic roads. The rest through the Hochfirst overlooking the Titisee-Neustadt, and a panoramic tower to enjoy the view and some food. Follow the Titisee and the Schluchsee, the latter being the highest (930 m – 3051 ft) reservoir lake of Germany. Then via Häusern and Sankt Blasien go down this hillside in the Wiesental to climb back to the edges of the Belchen (1414 m – 4639 ft). Follow the Neuenweg and Tegernau towards the Hochblauen (1165 m – 3822 ft) located on the West side of the Black Forest, on little used secundary roads. The road passes over the top with its panoramic tower for a view on the Rhine valley and the Vosges; an inn completes the site. Now a good down ride passing in front of the Badenweiler bath house, Mühllheim and the Rhine banks on the French side. To rest a little, 27 km (16,7 Miles) of straights without traffic until the Breisach locks allowing to head back to Germany. The Kaiserstuhl is under way. This latter is a sleeping volcano and also a famous vineyard. Going through these villages one ends up at the « Texaspass » on the edge of the volcano, pass with a unique view on the vineyards. Last stage, the plain of the Rhine, Europa-Park, the Schuttern valley and Oberharmersbach.
